The Boston Bruins will face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL Eastern Conference finals beginning Saturday night at 8pm. There are many story lines to this series as both teams have players that have played for, or were attempted to be signed by the other. Jaromir Jagr began his career with Pittsburgh and was a star player for 11 years. Just this past off-season the Penguins signed Jarome Iginla as a free agent pulling the rug out from under Peter Chiarelli and the Bruins who thought they had him signed only hours earlier. The Penguins also have Boston villain Matt Cooke, who ended the career of Marc Savard with a questionable hit in 2010.

Here’s the complete Eastern Conference Finals schedule. What is confusing is why the NHL gave these teams over a week of time off, and then play back-to-back in the critical games 6 and 7.
